Graveyards

The branches of the tree have grown over the gravestones which I think looks a bit like the people buried there are clibing over the stones and are slowly making their way towards me.

2 gravestones leaning against each other, sense of mystery because the only thing written on the gravestone is R.I.P.

A very interseting and unique gravestone that I imagine is intrguing to many people including myself as it is very different to any other gravestone I've ever seen. I think this is quite freaky because i can almost hear the piano being played.

interesting shapes and sizes of gravestones, the angel on in the foreground of this photo is very sriking because although angels are peercieved as good, I can't help but think that in this photo, she possesses some sort of evilness possibly due to the photo being in black and white or the because it's surrounded by death.

this photo caught my eye because the picture has been taken at a nice angle, the branches of the trees at the top frame the photo and look almost symmetrical on each side and there is a clear focal point where the sunlight hits the gravestones slightly to the left of the image.

This picture demonstrates how very often, gravestones are overgrown, have moss groing on them, are often broken or leaning to one side and that they vary in size and shape.

 War Cemetaries

The white crosses contrast with the orange yellows and browns of the leaves and the flower attached to one of them and the rich green of the grass.

This is a different approach of photographing the scene because the focus is on the tree in the forground which then leads you to look in to the background and see the gravestones lined up with the flags at their feet.

The difference between this war cemetery and a graveyard is shown very clearly here as you can see that each stone is identical and exactly  the same distance apart from the next and are layed out in very neat lines

This birdseye view of the cemetery clearly shows the hundreds and hundreds of rows of soldiers that died. It's quite shocking when you see it layed out like this because you realise how many have lost their lives but I don't think people have the same reaction when they see a graveyard filled with hundreds of gravestones.

This image is another good representation of the many rows of gravestones in this cemetery and how the next one is a repeat of the one beside it. I like how there is a gravestone in front of the camera out of focuse but the ones behind it  are in focus because you an see the whooe row in detail and yet it shows that the rows continues.

I thought that the image of the graveyard in black and white (see above) was effective because it added to the stereotypical eeriness and darkness of it but I don't think it is as effective with the cemetery because they generally aren't thought of as spooky or anything plus I like how contrasting the colours are when not in black and white.
